Opinnäytetyön tarkoituksena oli tutustua vientiremburssiin maksutapana sekä riskienhallintakeinona. Tavoitteena oli selvittää yrityksen Teleste Oyj vientiremburssin parissa toimivien työntekijöiden sekä yhteistyöpankin, OP Yrityspankin, vientiremburssin parissa työskentelevien asiantuntijoiden kokemuksia sen käytöstä ja mitä mahdollisia haasteita se tuo mukanaan.

Tutkimustyön toimintaympäristönä toimi Teleste Oyj. Tarve synty yrityksen kokemuksesta siitä, että vientiremburssin prosessiin olisi hyvä perehtyä enemmän sekä selvittää, miten prosessia voitaisiin mahdollisesti kehittää.

Tutkimustyö piti sisällään teoriaperustan kokoamista sekä vientiremburssin kokemuksien ja kehittämistarpeiden selvittämistä. Työn teoreettinen viitekehys koostuu ulkomaankauppaan liittyvistä riskeistä ja riskienhallinnasta, vientiremburssista, sen prosessista sekä vientiremburssin eduista ja haasteista. Teleste Oyj:n kanssa tehdyn sopimuksen johdosta tutkimustyön tuloksia ei avata tämän opinnäytetyön julkaistetussa versiossa.

The purpose of this thesis was to get to know the export letter of credit as a payment method and as a risk management tool. The goal was to find out the experiences of Teleste Corporations employees and the experts from the cooperative bank, OP Corporate Bank, working with the export letter of credit and what possible challenges it brings.

The operating environment of the research work was Teleste Corporation. The need arose from the company's experience that it would be good to learn more about the export letter of credit process and find out how the process could possibly be developed.

The research work included compiling a theoretical basis and finding out the experiences and development needs of export letters of credit. The theoretical framework of the work consists of risks and risk management related to foreign trade, export letter of credit, its process, and the advantages and challenges of export letters of credit. Due to the agreement with Teleste Corporation, the results of the research work will not be opened in the published version of this thesis.
