Drama education creates fictional learning environments. The magic of fiction is based on relations consisted of interaction between spectators, participants, time, space, stories and performers. This thesis examines the tools and tricks that are helpful in the building of fictional worlds in drama education.

The thesis opens up some concepts and laws of drama and fiction from the aspect of drama education. It examines the learning environments of drama education, a term called aesthetic duplication and the importance of playfulness in creating the fictional worlds of drama education. Creating a fictional world requires believing in the power of fiction. This thesis examines how these kind of conditions can be created.
