The purpose of this thesis was to draw up a clear and user-friendly operations manual for the franchisees of Kameratori Oy. Kameratori Oy is a limited corporation founded in December 2010. Kameratori is a Finnish internet store that specialises in used camera equipment. The company is based in Tampere, Finland, from where it ships its products worldwide.

The operations manual provides full and detailed instructions on how a franchisee must operate their business, and establishes along with the franchise agreement, the legal conditions under which the franchisee will operate. The manual is designed to be a resource for the franchisees when the franchisor is not available to advise or assist.

The theoretical section provides an overview of franchising and its benefits, as well as a precise description of the operations manual. The manual was drawn up on the basis of the material in the theoretical section. The manual has been classified as confidential due to the fact that it contains Kameratori Oy’s trade secrets, and thus cannot be published.
