The construction industry is transitioning from single projects of various types to product-based thinking. Projects entail numerous internal services partly invisible to customers, yet these services can produce added value to both internal and external customers. Productizing internal services that support business leads to shorter lead time and reduces waste in the project development phase, without limiting the fulfilment of customer requirements. The client of the thesis is a large international construction company, which is developing the process of integrated projects. In this thesis, the focus is on creating a high-level concept of productizing internal services with service design methods. The concept is designed in close cooperation with business. The thesis includes studying different service design methods and utilizing them in creating a productization concept. It is concluded that productizing internal services is time-consuming, and it requires both management commitment and resources. It is worth considering that once embraced, it produces added value to business – each project does not have to reinvent the wheel but can benefit from best practices. Productization improves quality and creates awareness of good ways to work. Moreover a productized service can im-prove brand image credibility to customers when readily usable solutions are offered.
