This thesis was carried out on behalf of Someron Vesihuolto Ltd. by solving the acute and work-oriented problem of the wastewater treatment plant. The purpose was to compile general instructions on the use of the treatment plant, information on the maintenance of various equipment and possible solutions to problem situations, as well as their effects on the operation of the process. The manual was also intended to improve the orientation of new employees.

The work required knowledge of process chemistry, mastery of process technology and technical know-how on equipment and its maintenance.

The operation and maintenance manual of the Somero wastewater treatment plant was created during the sectoral summer internship of the energy and environmental technology training program on the basis of own observations and the work guidance and literature review provided by the plant's colleagues.

By recording all stages of the cleaning process right at the beginning of the summer training, the client's goals of providing easily accessible information about the operation of the treatment plant to operating staff and new employees, who often have to run the process after too short an induction period, were achieved.
