The objective of this thesis was to analyze the financial performance of Nanso Group Oy and its development in during the years 2015-2018. The financial performance of the company was researched with the help of financial statement analysis, and the specific method used in this thesis was financial ratio analysis. In the theory part of the thesis the purpose of financial statements was studied as well as the basis of the legislation concerning financial statements and the content of financial statements. In addition, the users of financial statements as well as the planning of financial statements, adjustments to financial statements and the different methods for financial statement analysis were studied. The financial ratio analysis was studied more closely concerning the specific ratios chosen for this thesis, which were ratios presenting profitability, solvency, and liquidity.

The execution of this thesis was started by getting to know the company which was analyzed and by evaluating the validity and reliability of the thesis. In the research itself the financial performance of the company was analyzed by evaluating the financial ratios which presented the profitability, solvency, and liquidity of the company. The financial ratios were also compared to the median indicators of the industry from the corresponding period. In addition, the financial statements including information in euros were researched to deepen the analysis.

According to the results of the thesis the financial performance of the company can be stated as weak. However, the company has made significant operational changes during the years under review, which can be expected to further improve the company’s profitability in the future.
