Lean-menetelmien jalkautuminen Eksoten vammaispalveluihin

The purpose of this thesis was to find out how Lean-philosophy and Lean-methods have affected the disability services produced by South Karelia Social and Health Care District (Eksote). The main objective of the research was to gain information from employees who work in the disability services and have attended a Lean-training. The research material for this qualitative research was collected by interviewing the employees who work in the disability services. For the purpose of this thesis, it was important that most of the interviewees had attended a Lean-training. The theory portion of this research presents Lean-philosophy, Lean-methods, disability services and customer oriented approach. The results of the research show that, from the point of view of the interviewees, using Lean-methods is challenging. One of the challenges was to find time to use the Lean-methods effectively. The research also shows that further Lean-training is needed. This thesis gives an extensive look into Lean-philosophy and Lean-methods. It can be utilised to implement the philosophy further. It can also be helpful when planning future Lean-trainings. A possible topic for further research could be a development task that concentrates on clarifying the use of Lean-methods in one specific place of business.
