Limón-tekniikkaharjoitttelun hyödyt joukkuevoimistelijoiden lajiharjoitteluun : Tutkimus kokemuksellisesta näkökulmasta

The idea for this study came from learning Limón technique and noticing the multiple similarities it had with natural whole body movement which is the base of Aesthetic Group Gymnastics (AGG). The report aims to show a clear image of the learning process where Limón technique was taught to aesthetic group gymnasts. The study itself aims to discover how the gymnasts experienced the process and how they felt to have benefitted from it. The target of the learning process was to develop qualities important for the whole body movement, such as breathing and relaxing in movement, heading towards ergonomic movement.

This is a case study searching for an overall image of a single case in a particular environment in order to see how techniques like these can be combined. It was approached from an experiential point of view which emphasizes the individuality of the case: the case concentrates on the experiences of this particular group of gymnasts. It also strengthens the objectivity of the case since the conclusions are not alone of the researcher's observation. As study material for this study there was a themed group interview as well as a questionnaire based on the interview.

As is seen when analyzing the material, the group benefitted most to relaxing and breathing in movement and to moving wider and bigger. They also experienced development in balance, body control and supportive use of the floor. This study can be used as a guideline for a similar experimentation in any other gymnastics club. It would be interesting to see if Limón technique could play a part in bringing back natural whole body movement to aesthetic group gymnastics.
