Intelligent agriculture in the acceleration lane

Modern agriculture combines the smart tools of traditional arable farming and agriculture. Oulu University of Applied Sciences' BioDiPi-project (Bioeconomy Digital Pilot) focused on precision farming tools for tractors and data transfer between machines. There are many methods for collecting data to support farming, such as satellites and drones, but the acquired information must also be transferred to tractors and implements. ISOBUS has been developed for data transmission, which is a standardized data transmission method commonly used by manufacturers. It can be used to control machines in the fields and thus, through precision farming, to make production more efficient. The results of the survey about the prevalence of precision farming and the use of ISOBUS in Catalonia are also presented in the blog.
