Evenemangsplanering : Manual för evenemangsplanering i Fiskars Bruk

The purpose of my thesis is to create an event manual for Fiskars Village, situated in Pohja, Western Uusimaa. Fiskars Village is an old ironworks with over 360 years of history. During the past 20 years the operations in the village have changed to a community for artists, craftsmen and designers. During the recent years different kinds of events have been arranged in Fiskars Village. In October 2012 Mr. Kenneth Katter was hired as an event coordinator in the village. He has been commissioned to create six new events in 2013. Katter gave me an assignment to create an event manual, which purpose is to be a working tool when arranging consistently high quality events in Fiskars Village.

To be able to create the manual I have studied different event planning theories. In the thesist I have chosen two different event planning processes which I have based the manual on; Joe Goldblatt’s five stages and Helena Vallo and Eija Häyrinen’s strategical and operational questions. I have then chosen 14 parts in the event process that I find most important.

With the help of literature, event manuals from the Internet and Mr. Katter I have designed the manual, which in the beginning will work as a template and will be developed with time.
