The aim of this thesis is to evaluate the onboard training for officers in charge of a navigational watch in Finland from the trainees’ perspective. This research is based on the assessment of a questionnaire filled by students who have attended at least one onboard training for deck officers. This research will assess whether the training is conducted as required and advised from the STCW convention and code and whether trainees are satisfied and confident from the onboard training for certification of officers in charge of a navigational watch in Finland.
