This thesis studies the possibilities and potential impact the use of 3D fashion design software has on the sales and marketing of work clothes. The thesis also studies and compares different 3D fashion design software and analyses their suitability for the client’s purposes.

The client of the thesis is Logonet Oy. The research was carried out as a design study. The study was conducted by utilizing an extensive literature review. The framework of the study consists of 3D fashion design software and their comparative analysis, the B2B sales process and the possibilities of 3D software in sales and marketing. The aim of the design study is to create a process proposal for the sales process at Logonet Oy. In the process proposal, 3D fashion design software has been applied to different stages of the sales process, and its potential impact on the company’s sales and product development process have been analysed.

The design study states that the 3D fashion design software can be applied in many different ways to the company’s sales process by utilizing interactive 3D images, animation and digital showrooms. As a result of this thesis, it can be stated that the potential impact of 3D fashion design software on the client’s processes are wide-ranging. With the use of 3D software, the sales and product development processes could be streamlined, and marketing could be started earlier. The number of physical samples could be reduced, which in turn would reduce waste and save time and costs. In addition to these, the use of 3D software in sales and marketing could increase sales and facilitate the creation of new customer relationships.
