The thesis was executed for a company that provides solutions for the development of logistic functions. The purpose of this project was to improve the company’s customer service and make sure that their products are being used correctly by the customer. As a result, new instructions were created for the use of warehouse management tools. The solutions that the company provides are always customized, and that requires the instructions to be customized. The video instructions also needed to speed up the documentation process because making detailed print instructions takes a lot of time. The mission of new instructions also was to resolve the problem concerning the updating process. When the system updates, the instructions need to be modified, resulting in multiple versions of instructions in the use of customer.

In the project instructions were researched from the angle of learning, usability and quality. The instructions were created to provide specific information considering the use of the user interfaces but at the same time they were supposed to be quick to browse. The thesis examined the usability of products and the learning of people and as a result, video instructions were considered as the best option as a form of instructions.

Instructions were also created to make executing similar instructions possible, from the features of the video editing program and publishing the instructions on the video streaming service. As the Video-sharing service, the project crew decided to use a third party service, where the instructions can be uploaded and watched. The service enables the right instructions to be delivered to the right person.

The first instructions have been delivered to the customer and the service is being adapted in to the use of the internal communications of the company. Video instructions are meant to replace the paper instructions in the future customer projects. The video editing instructions and the instructions to make similar instructions will be used to guide the project managers to create video instructions and use the video editing software in future projects.
