The purpose of this bachelor’s thesis was to find out what kind of skills nurses need in their work at Pharmacy Health Point. The aim was to describe the nurse’s versatile work at Pharmacy Health Point.

The thesis was implemented as a qualitative research using the Webropol -online survey. The research material consisted of the responses of ten nurses to the questionnaire created for this thesis. As a data analysis method was used a three-step data-driven content analysis.

The main results of the survey were that the nurse’s work profile at Pharmacy Health Point was described as very versatile, responsible and independent. Nurses working at Pharmacy Health Point therefore must have skills and competence to make decisions independently. In addition to the reception activities, the work was said to include much more than just reception activities. A nurse must also have marketing skills and knowledge of the bureaucratic requirements of the business. Duties of pharmacy’s technical staff were also part of the job description of several nurses attending this survey.

To conclude, nurse’s know-how and expertise at Pharmacy Health Point was stated as a good extra benefit for the pharmaceutical staff off the pharmacy. Vice versa, the know-how and expertise of pharmacists in pharmacotherapy is an extra benefit for registered nurse, enabling the beneficial and necessary consulting between the parties.
