The aim of this thesis was to develop the activity for young confirmed volunteers at the Church of Sastamala. Sastamala Church has a two-year training for young confirmed volunteers and after that many volunteers drop out from the activity. The youth expressed their wishes about developing the advanced activity which is not as binding as the training before.

This thesis was created in co-operation with the Church of Sastamala and the outcome was a guidebook about advanced youth nights e.g. the Syvis. The youth nights were tested in fall 2018 and spring 2019. The feedback and ideas during the process were collected from the youth. At the end of the process the feedback from the youth was collected concerning all the nights.

The themes of the youth nights are What Is It Like to Be the Oldest Young Confirmed Volunteer, Devotion, Functional Bible teaching, Play and Competitions and Evening program. All the events follow the same plan. The events are two hours long and they consist a theory revision, exceeding of social cohesion with playing and interactive conversation. After the events on Devotion, Functional Bible teaching and Play and Competitions, participants can design and execute activities from these topics for future youth nights.

The feedback collected from the young people was positive and the advanced activity was approved. The youth liked that familiar themes were rehearsed, and they were discussed. The youth found it mostly useful and pleasant to have a chance to execute for example a functional Bible teaching for a youth night.
