Syftet med detta arbete är att den 7 maj 2011 ordna ridtävlingar i hoppning på övnings-nivå på Trans Horses Ky:s stall i Vanda. Jag gör arbetet som ett projekt för Trans Horses Ky, som alltså är uppdragsgivaren. Trans Horses Ky ordnar tävlingar med jämna mellanrum på hösten och våren för sina egna ryttare på ridskolan. Med att ordna tävlingar håller man intresset uppe hos de egna kunderna, men tävlingarna kunde också vara ett sätt att få nya kunder och mera synlighet. Detta har jag haft som baktanke när då tävlingarna planerats. Planeringsprocessen från början till slut är på mitt ansvar och mina förbättringsförslag testas på tävlingarna. Jag fungerar också som ledare för tävlingarna. Arbetet blir till största delen praktiskt och som teoribas har använts litteratur om evenemangsplanering, marknadsföring av evenemang och projektledning. De teorier som använts för detta arbete är av Vallo & Häyrinen, Iiskola-Kesonen och Macheridis. Dessa teorier kommer upp i arbetet under planeringsfasen. I den genomförande fasen berättas hur man har gått till väga med arrangemangen och vad som skett. Till sist kommer evalueringsfasen, där jag analyserar projektets gång och resultat och här ger även nya förbättringsförslag och ser på framtiden. En självevaluering och diskussion avslutar det skriftliga arbetet. Arbetet ledde till förbättringar i Trans Horses tävlingsarrangemang och handlingssätt. Själva evenemanget var lyckat och fick positiv feedback av både ryttare, publiken och funktionärer.

The purpose of this thesis is to describe the organization of equestrian competitions in jumping on the educational level. The competitions are organized on Trans Horses Ky's stables in Vantaa on 7th of May 2011. I am doing the thesis as a project for Trans Horses Ky, which is the commissioner. Trans Horses Ky organizes competitions periodically in autumn and spring for their own riders at the riding school. Organizing competitions keep customers interested, as well as being a good way to get new customers and gain more visibility. I have had this as a motive when the competitions were planned. The planning process from start to finish is my responsibility and my suggestions are being tested at the competitions. I also serve as the leader of the competitions. The thesis is largely practical and as theory basis has been used theories of event planning, marketing events and project management. The theories that have been used for this thesis are by Vallo & Häyrinen, Iiskola-Kesonen and Macheridis. These theories come up in the thesis during the planning phase. In the implementation phase I tell how I went on with the arrangement and how everything went during the process. Finally in the evaluation phase I analyze the project and achievements. In this chapter I also provide new suggestions for improvement and look to the future. A self-evaluation and discussion finalizes the written thesis. The thesis led to improvements in Trans Horses competition arrangements and course of action. The event was successful and received positive feedback from riders, audience and volunteers.
