Nelikulmainen purppurakuosikankaan kappale, medaljonki, jonka pintaa kuvioi nauhaornamentiikka täyttäen alueen silmukoille kiertyvillä nauhoilla ja palmikoilla. Kappale on peräisin tunikasta tai viitasta.

Rectangular purple medallion. The surface of the medallion covered with a band ornament filling the surface with bands and plaits twisting into loops. The fragment is from a tunic or cloak. The motif was executed with the so-called 'flying needle' technique by threading a thin white linen yard on the dark background while the weave progresses. The dye of these purple fabrics is not authentic purple, but was achieved by repeated dyeing with indigo and madder root. The hues vary from reddish brown to dark blue and violet.
