The aim of this study is to examine how the sample measurement process of Stora Enso Enocell pulp mill could be improved by applying theories of supply chain management. At first the study concentrates on basics and techniques of measuring pulp wood and on finding the key targets of development. Next goal is to find suitable SCM theories to be used to improve these problem cases and to introduce the best alternative to be used as a new measurement method in target environment. Initially the environment is limited to Stora Enso Enocell mill. At the end of the study the chosen measurement method is analyzed also in cases of other possible surroundings to determinate it’s potential to extended use. The key result of this study is a valid conclusion about the best sample measurement process to be used in Enocell mill. The chosen method has to satisfy mill operator Stora Enso, but also meet the requirements concerning business opportunities of this study promoter Mantsinen Group Ltd Oy. In addition this study introduces recommendations about implementing presented measuring method.
