A ship model of the motor ship Bore VIII. The steel-hulled bulk carrier was built in 1967 at the Oy Suomen Laivateollisuus Ab shipyard in Turku, Finland, for the Turku-based company Ångfartygs Ab Bore. M/S Bore IX was its sister ship. In 1973 the Bore VIII was sold to Stavanger, Norway, and renamed Obrestad. Later the ship operated under the names of Medway, Eastern Gold, and Melakajaya II.

The model is painted in the colours of the company Ångfartygs Ab Bore. The port of registry on the model is Turku.
