Opinnäytetyö on toiminnallinen ja toimeksiantajana on Lahden ensikoti. Opinnäytetyön tuloksena toteutettiin esite Lahden ensikotijaksoa harkitseville asiakkaille. Esitteen tarkoituksena on antaa ohjeita perheelle liittyen ensikotijaksolle tulemisen käytännön asioihin, mukaan ensikotiin otettaviin varusteisiin, lapsiperheiden palvelujärjestelmään sekä ennakolta vahvistaa lapsen ja vanhempien vuorovaikutussuhdetta. Esite on suunnattu ensikotijaksoa harkitseville ja uusille ensikodin asiakkaille.

Esitettä voidaan jakaa ensikotien yhteistyöverkostoissa ja yhteistyökumppanien toimesta. Esite pyrittiin tekemään mahdollisimman informoivaksi, kattavaksi ja selkokieliseksi. Ensikodin asiakkaina on pääosin tukea tarvitsevia perheitä, mutta myös kehitysvammaisia, lukihäiriöisiä ja maahanmuuttajia, jotka hyötyvät esitteen selkeydestä. Ensikoti – tie vanhemmuuteen esite on suunniteltu yhteistyössä Lahden ensikodin henkilöstön ja asiakkaisen kanssa. Yhteistyö ensikodin henkilöstön ja asiakkaiden kanssa toteutettiin keskustellen ja suunnitelmapalavereissa. Heiltä saimme käytännönkokemukseen perustuvaa tietoa, joka toimii teoreettisena kehyksenä esitteen suunnittelemiselle. Työssämme käsittelimme myös varhaista vuoro vaikutusta sekä vanhemmuuteen liittyviä asioita sillä esitteessä haluttiin tuoda esille niiden merkitystä.

Kyseessä on toiminnallinen opinnäytetyö, joka koostuu kirjallisesta aineistosta sekä esitteestä. Opinnäytetyön kirjallinen osuus ja esite ovat yhdessä tuotteistettu kokonaisuus, jonka voi muunneltuna kopioida muiden ensikotien käyttöön. Opinnäytetyön kirjallisessa osuudessa avataan esitteessä keskeisiä aihevalintoja ensikotiin tulemiseen, mukaan otettaviin varusteisiin, arkeen ensikodissa, vuorovaikutus suhteeseen vauvan kanssa sekä lapsiperhepalvelujärjestelmään ensikodin jälkeen.

Opinnäytetyöprosessi eteni suunnitellusti ja yhteistyö oli tasapuolista. Tapaamiset ensikodin henkilöstön ja asiakkaiden kanssa olivat teoriatietoa syventäviä. Opinnäytetyön edetessä ja tutustuttaessa asiakkaisiin tapaamiset perheiden kanssa muuttuivat rennommiksi. Ensipalautteen perusteella esite on onnistunut kielen, informatiivisuuden ja visuaalisuuden suhteen. Esitteen toimivuudesta ei kuitenkaan ehditä saada varmuutta opinnäytetyön tekemisen puitteissa. Tulevaisuudessa ensikoti voi kehittää esitettä asiakkailta saadun palautteen perusteella.

This study is a functional thesis project, commissioned by Lahden ensikoti (mother and child home). As a result, a brochure for their potential clients was developed. The purpose of the brochure is to provide instructions regarding the practical issues related to the arrival in a mother and child home, what to bring upon arrival, and child and family services in general. Moreover, the aim is to strengthen the interactional relationship between children and their parents in advance. The brochure is targeted at those who are considering a period in a mother and child home, as well as for all the new clients.

The brochure can be distributed through the networks of mother and child homes and with the help of different collaborators. The aim was to make the brochure as informative and comprehensive as possible, and in plain language. The clients of mother and child homes mainly consist of families that need support but the homes also welcome people with intellectual disabilities or dyslexia, and immigrants, for whom the clarity of the brochure is particularly important. The brochure, titled “Ensikoti – tie vanhemmuuteen”, has been designed together with the staff and clients of Lahden ensikoti. The collaboration was implemented through discussions and planning meetings. From these both we received knowledge based on practical experience. This knowledge formed a theoretical framework for creating the brochure. In this thesis we also discuss issues related to early interaction and parenthood, as we also wanted to emphasise their role in the brochure.

This is a functional thesis, which consists of a written part and the brochure itself. It can be modified and used also in other mothers and child homes. In the written part, the central topics of the brochure are clarified: arriving in a mother and child home, what to bring there, everyday life in the home, interaction with the baby, as well as what child and family services can offer after a family leaves the home.

The thesis progressed as planned and the workload was divided equally. The meetings with the staff and clients of Lahden ensikoti helped us to deepen our theoretical knowledge. As the work progressed and we got to know the clients better, the meetings became more relaxed. Based on the first feedback, the brochure was successful in terms of language, informativeness, and visuality. However, we could not assess the usability of the brochure within the timeframe of writing this thesis. In the future, Lahden ensikoti can further develop the brochure based on the feedback from its clients.
