The purpose of this thesis was to create instruction for the mechanical design of the Copper Shielding of the Transformer and work instructions for welding and installation of the copper Shielding. With these instructions the Copper Shielding will be designed in-line and in a pre-instructed way. The comprehensive instruc-tion allows installing the Copper Shielding also in the subcontractor’s network. This also lowers the costs of production and designing. At the beginning of this work was made a survey about the effects and benefits of the coppering. This design instruction was done with the Creo Elements/Pro –program. Instructions material was collected by interviewing the Quality Control-ler and the Transformer designer experts.The result of this thesis is this design instruction for the Transformer tank and the Coppering the cover. The instruction includes instructions for designing, welding and assembling. The objects of copper shielding are taken into account in the in-structions. The instruction itself will be easy to update. This instruction was com-piled in Finnish and in English.
