Living Lab project management application is implemented as a student assistant project for the Turku University of Applied Sciences and it is meant for the personnel of Living Lab. Its main function is to serve as a tool for booking and monitoring programs, projects, phases of the projects, interactions and the information of participants. The project management application is developed from an earlier Microsoft Access application sketch by Titta Korhonen. As a web browser based application Living Lab project management tool advantages are ease of access and comprehenisve availability. The goal has been to keep it as a compact tool, which primarily includes the most important functions and features needed.

When designing and implementing its user interface the main objectives were plain appereance and user friendliness. Menu structure of the application follows hierarchic order. Adding, viewing and editing of information is possible by using specific forms. Applications functionality is programmed using PHP and with some supporting JavaScript code. The visual structure is done with HTML. All the processed information is stored in MySQL relational database which consists of 16 tables.

Testing of the application is done using Black Box -testing method with UML modeling language. State machines which are connected directly to test cases are also used. The main goal of the testing is to ensure that the application is working as intended without any major errors. Only the testing of most important parts of the application are documented.

Finished application is installed at the server of Turku University of Applied Sciences.
