In my Fine Art BA -work I used the time slice technique, which separates time and space from each other, to film people in abstract forms. The work was filmed with self made pinhole cameras made from recycled materials. The prosess in all, was slow and difficult - what did I want to accomplish with it?

Artist Liisa Lounila has used the method to create experimental studies on time and space. How does the method actually work and what kind of time and space does it capture? In this thesis work, the Timeless Presence: time slice art, I will examine her work and the possibilities and purposes of using the time slice technique.
