The aim of this Bachelor's thesis is to present three theatrical productions carried out in Finland during the past three years from the percussionist's point of view. The first production is the 2011 Christmas show, Nurja, by Sori Circus in Tampere. Next, Peppi Pitkätossu (Pippi Longstocking), the musical show for the whole family, which was staged by Törnävä Summer Theatre in July 2012 is presented next. Lastly, the thesis discusses the broadway musical Annie presented at Tampere-hall in autumn 2012. The starting points for each production are clarified, and the elements of the percussionist's work space are introduced with the help of photos. Notations, parts, and live recordings are included in the appendices of the thesis. In addition, arrangement and practise processes are discussed. I hope that this Bachelor's thesis would serve as a valuable tool for a percussionist who is participating in a larger theatrical or musical production for the first time. Hopefully the photos, descriptions, notations, and music will bring inspiration and ideas and solutions for work.
