The purpose of this thesis was to make a work plan for a private house roof renovation. The objectives were to prepare the complete work plan, compare the different roofing material options, and choose the most appropriate one for the roof. Additionally, the cost levels of the different roofing materials were estimated.

The object of the roof renovation project was a one and a half storey private house from 1985. The current residents were concerned about the condition of the old tin roof, which made the renovation project topical. Information for the thesis was gathered by exploring the object house and the old construction drawings. Construction literature and the price information from online sources were also used as a source material for the theory part of this thesis.

As a result, the work plan for the roof renovation project was completed. The information regarding the necessity of the construction permit was clarified and the cost estimate of the materials was calculated. In addition, information together with sectional views of the roofing materials was collected.
