COST-EFFECTIVENESS AND COMPUTATIONAL SHARE OF WORKING TIME IN AUXILIARY CONSTRUCTION WORK

This thesis examined auxiliary construction work’s computational share of total working time in selected seven disciplines. Based on this research development pro-posals for improving working methods and reducing costs were made.

The research was made out of the interest of target company to identify work hours in auxiliary construction works and to examine evolving areas for auxiliary construction work organization with the help of calculations and conclusions.

Work hours and costs used for auxiliary construction work, and their proportion of total working time and total costs, were calculated by computational values. These values were compared to actual values of previous work sites as well as the experience based values estimated by employees of target company.

The examination shows that the proportion of auxiliary construction work from total work time is considerable, calculated with both computational and experience based values. It can be carried out to conclusion that the development proposals when im-plemented can bring costs as well as time savings and thereby increase the cost-effectiveness of the construction of the target company.
