Safe working enviroment is a very important factor when we talk about your well- being at work. At times, adding safety to a working community can be challenging, but nonetheless it is important in an ever-evolving working environment. When talking about such a complex and multidisciplinary field as the maritime industry, achieving safety is certainly not simple.

The SEAHORSE project concentrates on whether it is possible to add safety to maritime by applying the already existing working methods and operations of the aviation sector. The meaning of the project is not to contrast these two industries but to compare the differences.

The purpose of this thesis is to overview the SEAHORSE project in general, and to concentrate on one of the seven Work Packages of the project, the Work Package number Two. The Package number Two includes three “Tasks” which are covered individually in this thesis. The data used consists of interviews and documents obtained through the SEAHORSE project.

This thesis provides an overview of the SEAHORSE project and, especially, Work Package Two. In addition and to conclude, I add my own opinion.
