The study investigates the well-being of early childhood education families with children in Lappeenranta. The purpose of the study was to find out how early childhood education supports families where on parent or both parents are studying. Furthermore, it also examines how parents experience the support they get from the kindergartens. Is received support efficient enough. The study was commissioned by Lappeenranta city. This study investigated what kind of support the studying parents of at the Saimaa University of Applied Sciences were expecting from kindergartens and what kind of support they felt they had received. The study also investigated what the parents experienced challenging in co-operation with the kindergarten. The topic is important because the well-being of families with children is an important issue. Well-being is a subjective experience, so it is very difficult to determine unequivocally. There are different factors which affect the well-being of families. The aim of the study was to find out the role of early childhood education in the well-being of families with children and what are the things in early childhood education that support the well-being. Questionnaires collected from the studying parents were used as a basis for this study. Four families, where at least one parent was studying, participated in answering the questionnaires at least one of the parents studying. Participating parents were generally satisfied with the early childhood education of Lappeenranta and its professional staff. The participants felt that concern in early childhood education was caused by the lack of resources of employees, too large children’s groups, the lack of opportunities to influence the child’s diet and inflexibility of day-care times.
