Sysart won the bid on the tax administration’s new web based application. The purpose of this application is to provide the customer with a service where they can find answers to their questions. This does not require direct contact with the Finnish tax administration.

If the customer does not find a suitable answer to their question from the Answer Bank, they can use the web application to submit the question for the tax administration’s personnel to answer. The service is public which means that the customer’s question will be published for everyone to see. This allows the application to scale up as the customers continue to use it.

A Java API developed by Sysart will be used in the implementation of the web application and its data model.

The Answer Bank is a part of a much larger Vero24 project carried out by the Finnish tax administration. Its purpose is to serve their customers around the clock even outside normal business hours.

The Answer Bank was developed in small steps. After each step the product was presented to the customer in its current state. All of the requirements of each step were met on time. During each presentation the next step was evaluated and the state of the product was assessed.

The Answer Bank was published for the general public to use during the fall of 2015. At the time of writing 503 question-answer pairs were published. The development of the Answer Bank continued after the thesis work.
