The aim of this thesis was to determine what sorts of criteria affect the companies when choosing work wear and protective wear. The purpose was to create an extensive report of the properties of clothes and suppliers that are deemed important. The aim was also to find out how satisfied companies are with their current suppliers. The theoretical part of this thesis covers the legislative dealing with work wear and protective wear in Finland and terms involved in work wear and protective wear. The thesis also goes over the different factors involved in the choosing of work wear. This thesis was commissioned by Logonet Ltd.

This thesis was conducted as a quantitative study, using survey as the study method. The data was collected using an online questionnaire targeted at companies using protective wear as their work clothing. The data collected was tabulated and analyzed.

The results indicate that companies value above all the practical aspects of clothing, such as functionality, fit, quality and durability. Suppliers and their delivery times were expected to be reliable. The ethical and ecological aspects of a supplier’s activity were also deemed important.

The results of this study can be used to improve the supply of work wear and protective wear as well as customer service. The theoretical part of this thesis can be used as a source of information for those interested in work wear and protective wear.
