Tässä vertailussa käsitellään laulun kesä- ja mestarikursseja. Työn tavoitteena on tehdä vertailevaa tutkimusta laulu- ja mestarikursseiksi nimettyjen kurssien välillä sekä auttaa laulua opiskelevia itselle sopivan kurssin valinnassa.

Lähtökohtana aiheen valinnalle on ollut opinnäytetyön tekijän uteliaisuus. Hän on opiskellut laulua monia vuosia ja keskustellut muiden laulua opiskelevien kanssa erilaisista oppimisen tavoista. Lisäksi hän on mukana kahden laulukursseja järjestävän tahon hallituksessa.

Tutkimuksessa verrataan kursseja oppilaiden tavoitteiden, opettajien, kurssin hinnan ja maantieteellisen sijainnin perusteella. Lisäksi pohditaan sitä, eroavatko mestarikursseiksi nimetyt laulukurssit muista laulukursseista. Tutkimuksen mukaan kurssin nimellä ei välttämättä ole vaikutusta kurssin sisältöön. Kursseja järjestetään koko Suomessa, kuitenkin eniten Etelä-Suomessa. Kurssien hinta vaihtelee 200 eurosta 600 euroon ja on sidonnainen kysyntään, opettajiin ja kestoon. Opettajien mukaan vertailtuna kurssit voidaan jakaa kolmeen kategoriaan: musiikkikorkeakoulujen viranhaltijat, oopperauraa tehneet tai tekevät opettajat sekä ulkomaiset opettajat.

Vertailun lisäksi työssä käsitellään opettajan ja kurssijärjestäjän vastuuta kurssin onnistumisesta. Onko opettajan vastuulla selvittää opiskelijan kurssi tavoitteet ja keinot niiden saavuttamiseksi yhdessä oppilaan kanssa ja tulisiko kurssijärjestäjän huolehtia sisällön lisäksi oppilaiden viihtyvyydestä ja mahdollistaa oppiminen?

Aineistona tutkimuksessa ovat Rondo Classic -lehden 4/2014 numerossa ilmoitetut kesän 2014 laulukurssit. Lisäksi aineistoon on haastateltu kurssijärjestäjiä.

Työssä vertaillaan tarkemmin kahta kurssijärjestäjää: Lohjan laulupäiviä ja Siuntion laulu-akatemiaa.

Vertailusta on hyötyä sekä laulukurssia valitsevalle, kurssitarjontaa järjestävälle että kursseilla opettaville. Se on yleisesitys siitä, millä perusteilla laulunopiskelijat voivat valita itselleen sopivan kurssin ja millaisiin odotuksiin opettajien ja kurssijärjestäjien tulisi vastata.

In this survey have been handled Summer Courses and Master Classes. The Objective of this survey is to do comparison analysis between Summer Courses and Master Classes and assist singing students to select best suitable course for them.

Starting point for this subject has been curiosity of the Author of this Survey. She has been studying singing several years and discussed with other students about different method of studying. In addition she has been a member of the board of two arrangers of singing courses.

In the survey have been compared on the basis of objectives of students, teachers, prices of the course and geographical locations. In addition it has been pondered how Master Classes differs from other singing courses. According to the Survey the name of the course has not necessary influence to the content of the course. The courses have been arranged in whole Finland but mainly in Southern Finland. The prices of the courses varied from 200 Euros to 600 Euros and it is binding of demand, teachers and duration of the course. Comparison base on the teachers the courses can be divided to three categories: teachers of Music Academy, Opera Singers and foreign Teachers.

In addition to the comparison this survey handles responsibility of the teacher and arranger of the success of the course. Is it the responsibility of the teacher to find out objectives of the courses of the student and ways how to reach these together with the student and should the arranger take care of in the addition to the content also the comfort of the students and enabled learning?

The material of this survey is from the article of the subscription of Rondo Classic 4/2014 of Summer Singing Courses 2014. In addition arrangers of the courses have been interviewed.

In the Survey two arrangers of the courses have been compared in detail: Lohjan Laulupäivät and Siuntion Lauluakatemia.

The benefit of this Survey is both for the selector of the course, the arranger of the course and the teachers of the course. It is an overview of what base singing students select the course which is suitable for them and which kind of expectation the teachers and the arrangers of the courses should respond.
