Our functional thesis is part of promotion of sexual and productive health project. We get acquainted with basis of sexualhealth and get tools to work as a professional in the field of midwifery. Our thesis was produced with Heltech Vocational school.

Our purpose is to produce a theme day covering sexually transmitted infections, contraception and relationships. Our goal is promote the knowledge of sexuality among adolescents studying in Heltech Vocational school and let them consider their sexual responsibilities.

The theoretical frame of reference deals with sexuality and relationship focusing to young people's point of view. We picked the topics based on School health promotion studies. In the studies boys studying in Vocational school have the poorest knowledge of these topics. From theoretical frame we found out what young boys want and need from sex education.

Theme day was 14th of february. Topics were relationships, equality, contraception, STI’s and common believes. According to youngsters feedback, they profit from the knowledge they got. We came to the conclusion that theme day was necessary in Vocational school.
