Opinnäytetyön päätavoitteena oli tutustua projektihallinnan perusteisiin. Työn tarkoituksena oli kriittisesti arvioida jo toteutetun sisustusprojektin työmenetelmiä ja löytää niille paremmin soveltuvat toimintamallit. Toteutetun projektin toimeksiantajana oli sisustuslehden toimitus.

Tehtävänantona oli toteuttaa lehden konseptin mukainen sisustussuunnitelma rakenteilla olleeseen uudisasuntoon. Sisustuksen suunnittelussa huomioitiin sisustuslehteen kuvattavan sisustamisen lähtökohtia. Suunnitelmaan sisältyi myös kalusteiden ja sisustustuotteiden valinta.

Tietolähteenä käytettiin projektityöhön liittyviä perusteoksia, jotka olivat parhaiten sovellettavissa sisustusprojektiin. Aihepiiri rajattiin valitusta kirjallisuudesta toteutetun projektin luonteen mukaiseksi. Aiherajaus painottuu projektitoiminnan suunnitelmallisuuteen.

Kirjallisuuden pohjalta saatiin tehokkaammat työskentelymallit, joita voidaan soveltaa erilaisiin projekteihin tai työtehtäviin. Teoria-aineistoa hyödyntämällä projektihallinnan periaatteet kiteytettiin projektin työvaiheet-kaavioon. Suunnitelman mukaisesti sisustetun asunnon kuvat julkaistiin ko. sisustuslehdessä. Julkaistut kuvat liitettiin työn suunnitteluluvun yhteyteen.

The objective of the Bachelor´s Thesis was to get to know the basics of project management.The aim was to critically evaluate the working methods in an interior design project already completed for an interior design magazine, and to discover more adequate operations models for it.

The assignment was to develop and to implement an interior design plan for an apartment being built, following the concept of the magazine. The magazine photography provided the starting point and basis for the actual interior design. The selection of the furniture and decorational elements were also included in the project.

The theoretical framework was provided by project management literature that applied to the project in question. The themes relating to the particular project were chosen from the material. The Thesis emphasizes systematic basic planning of project management.

The photos of the apartment decorated according to the interior design were published in the magazine as planned. The photographs published are included in the chapter relating to the actual design. The literature provided more effective working methods that could be applied to different projects or work assignments. From the theoretical material the principles of project management were drawn to a diagram depicting the different stages of the work.
