The first goal of this study was to cover building automation supervision and the tasks of the building automation supervisor during a building automation construction project. The second goal was to create documents for building automation supervision. The final year project was commissioned by Hepacon Oy.

The tasks that are carried out in supervision of building automation and the benefits of supervision are covered in this thesis. The general provisions of building contract regarding supervision are also clarified in this thesis.

The results of the final year project were two types of supervision documents. The first document was a manual for testing the inputs and outputs of devices connected to building automation system. This document is helpful for building automation engineers and it may be also used as a marketing tool for upcoming BAS (building automation system)-surveillance customers to help them understand the process of testing the inputs and outputs.

The other documents that were made for this project are individual checklists for devices connected to BAS. The main functions of these checklists are to make the testing process of the inputs and outputs of the devices faster and more accurate. Completed checklists can also be used as a document of the conducted BAS-supervision for the customer.
