The purpose of this practical thesis was to create a new website for Laurea’s MMP project with a more permanent location in mind. The project already had a website created by students but the old website was located under a private domain name, which meant that the teacher responsible for the project had to pay an annual fee to have rights for the domain name. Also, for the purpose of this thesis, it wasn’t possible to simply relocate the project website under Laurea’s website and it had to be created from scratch with Microsoft Sharepoint.

For creating the website, Sharepoint required a local area network access to Laurea’s own network, which meant that the workstation for the thesis had to be located inside Laurea’s building. A spot for the workstation and computer was reserved in Laurea’s communication and marketing laboratory.

The results of the thesis include the actual new website for the MMP project, which can be found at http://laurea.fi/fi/multisensorisuus and detailed instructions of the creation process in the thesis report. The detailed instructions can be used as a guide for similar Laurea project websites that are created with Sharepoint.
