The aim of this thesis was to examine the use of 3D model in a portable appliance designed for maintenance.
In the theoretical part the department of Research, Development and Innovation of the University of Applied Sciences is introduced, including the project KÄYNTI, in which this thesis is a subproject.
In addition, general information about maintenance is introduced.
The use of PDF Generator 3D and Adobe Acrobat X Pro, as well as Tetra 4D 3D Converter have been examined in this thesis in general and especially in the project KÄYNTI with respect to maintenance.
As a result, two different 3D instructions and a PDF portfolio using these programmes were created.
As a conclusion, it was discovered that all these programmes are suitable to be used in the project KÄYNTI.
