This thesis deals with arranging music, copyright issues, musical instruments and music theory. The focus is especially on punk rock and tango music. Their stylistic features are compared with each other. Regarding these two music styles, this thesis covers also the history, the most common topics, the possible compositions of a band, the roles of the musical instruments and music theory.

Copyright issues presented in this thesis are about the use and performing of music and the permissions you need to have. The part conserning musical instruments deals with the traditional instruments of classical music and the instruments and singing that play a big part in punk rock and tango. There are also some thoughts about which instruments go together and how the melody should be taken from one tone to another.

In this thesis arranging music is presented verbally and through various examples. There is also some reflection about the possible problems that may appear and notes about music theory. The thesis also includes a punk rock piece made into a tango as a music score and as an audible version.
