The problem of Theater KesäHeinä was that the customers arrived sometimes even 1,5 – 2 hours before the show. Theater KesäHeinä didn’t have anything to offer to them during that time. The purpose of this thesis was to find out if the customers were interested of a parish tour as a side product of Theater KesäHeinä. This was researched with a test tour and a test group.

The planning of the work was started in spring 2010. The theme of the test tour was selected to go with the coming summers play Kultala, which narrated about Joonas Lagus who has lived in the parish at 17th century. During the spring the tour was planned to be done with a horse wagon and to include five different sights. The whole tour was planned in the 17th century’s spirit, so the guide would dress as a maid and the director of the horse as a farm labourer.

The tour was executed in july 7th 2010. The group that participated liked it very much. According to the feedback this kind of tour could interest the customers to buy it as a side product of Theater KesäHeinä.

The Tour would only be changing in the way that it wouldn’t be about the play but about the parish itself and its history. This way the tour could be sold as a separate product for example by the city.
