This Bachelor’s thesis was commissioned by it. Hämeenlinna Oy which changed its name to Upto Oy due to a corporate acquisition. Upto Oy offers diverse info-tv system solutions for companies and organizations. In its solutions Upto Oy uses FirstView Manager content management system.

The aim of the thesis was to investigate communication in a learning institution and to find out what kind of info-tv system solution could be used to support and enhance the communication in it. Upto Oy can exploit the content of this thesis when offering info-tv solutions to other learning institutions. The exam-ple institution of this thesis was Häme University of Applied Sciences, limited to Visamäki campus.

The sources used in the thesis were interviews conducted to the staff of com-munications department of Häme University of Applied Sciences and Upto Oy were used as a source for this thesis. The corporation websites and Internet sources were used as a source for abstracts and system solutions. Information about FirstView Manager content management system was found on the FirstView Digital Signage wiki page and from the system itself.

The thesis contains an overall review of the communication of Häme University of Applied Sciences and their current info-tv system. Based on the review some improvement suggestions were made for the use of the info-tv system in Häme University of Applied Sciences. In addition, a list was compiled of things Upto Oy has to consider and make while offering info-tv system solutions for other learning institutions.
