The purpose of the Barchelor´s thesis was to make learning material to the Degree Programme in Nursing in Häme University of Applied Sciences. The working life partner in cooperation was Häme University of Applied Sciences. The thesis was carried out as a practice based thesis.

The aim was to produce knowledge from the present situation of home care. It included the renewed organization structure as moving into the enterprise resource planning. The wishes and suggestions by the working life partner were noticed as making the learning material.

The theoretical basis of the thesis consisted home care, enterprise resource planning, transition to organization and the surveying present situation of home care. Background information was collected from the newest literature, legislation, the quality recommendations of social welfare and healthcare and doctoral theses.

The learning material was presented to Häme University of Applied sciences adult students. Feedback was collected by the students after the presentation. The main results were that the learning material was informative and distinct.

The development idea for this thesis was to collate the effect of the enterprise resource planning towards instant nursing based on a longer practical experience. The second development idea was to study how the municipalities pull through the future changes in social welfare and healthcare.
