The aim of the study was to develop the young adults’ work within the Urban Lights framework. Urban Light is a Christian community for young adults in Lahti. It is part of the joint student work of the Lahti Lutheran congregations. The purpose of the Urban Light community is to reach young adults aged between 18 and 30 who have alienated from the church as well as to strengthen the Christian spirituality of those who are already involved with the church. The purpose of the thesis was to develop Urban Light into a well-functional concept. This development consisted of planning the structure of the Urban Light activities, producing the activities and documenting them in the form of this thesis. The objective was to produce a document that explains the purpose of the Urban Light community and the methods used. As a result of the work, Urban Light formed into a working concept. It consists of two equal parts that support each other, a web community for young adults and face-to-face activities for them. The goal of all activity was to approach today’s young adults in their social environment.
