Opinnäytetyö on kehittämispainotteinen ja työelämälähtöinen. Tavoitteena oli ideoida ja rakennuttaa luonnon rauhaan kiinteä metsäkirkko, joka olisi helposti saavutettavissa. Tarkoituksena oli saada aikaan jotain pysyvää, jälkipolville säilyvää. Metsäkirkko valmistui syyskuussa 2016 Porin seurakuntayhtymän omistamalle Kullaan Silokallion kurssikeskuksen alueelle, ja se toteutettiin yhteistyössä Porin Luontopajan kuntouttavan työryhmän kanssa.

Teoreettisessa viitekehyksessä tarkastellaan suomalaisen kansallismaiseman – metsän – historiallista merkitystä sekä suomalaisten ja kristinuskon suhdetta luontoon. Teoria käsittelee myös metsäkirkkojen historiaa ja luonnon hyvinvointivaikutuksia. Projektin yhteistyökumppanin, Luontopajan, hyödyntäessä kuntouttavaa Green Care -toimintamallia, käsittelee teoria myös Green Carea ja sen kuntouttavaa vaikkutusta.
Tuotoksessa esitellään hankkeen eteneminen ideoinnista valmiiksi rakennelmaksi ja reflektoidaan sen osalta projektinhallintakykyjämme.

This bachelor’s thesis is development oriented and originated from working life with the purpose to compose and build an easily accessible, permanent forest church to calmness of nature. The target was to achieve and build up something that will last, to be preserved for future generations. The church was completed in Silokallio area in September 2016. The area belongs to the adult educational center owned by the congregation consortium of Pori. The project was accomplished in co-operation with the rehabilitating workgroup of Porin Luontopaja.

In the theoretical frame of reference were examined the way Finnish people and Christianity are related to nature, as well as the history on forest churches. In the thesis was discussed the wellness effects of nature, and the Green Care action that is utilizing those effects. The progress of the project was presented from ideation to completed structure. The reflection of the project involves also the ability to manage the process of a project.
