The topic of this thesis is the participation of young people in church services. The thesis was done for Kirkkonummi parish. The aim was to bring forward all the ideas, wishes and opinions that the youngsters have. Two services were arranged and feedback was received on both services.

The feedback was very positive. The youngsters who participated in the project liked doing it very much and were thrilled to be part of services. In addition, the people who came to the services gave positive feedback and were glad that the handprint of young people was shown so strongly. The most important part was to give to youngsters the feeling that they have been invited. Moreover, though only ten people participated at the end, the invitation reached many more.

The theory part discusses church services, the spiritual life of young people in church, the activities our church has for them and the education for young confirmed volunteers in confirmation camps. The new 2017 collective plan for confirmation in the Finnish Lutheran church played an important role in this thesis.
