Höyrylaiva Bore IX -laivamalli; pienoismalli; Steamship Bore IX model; ship model

A ship model of the steamship Bore IX. The steel-hulled bulk carrier was built in 1910 and its original name was Strathan. The Ångfartygs Ab Bore acquired the ship in 1928 to freight cargo on the Finland South American Line. From 1940 onwards, during WWII, the Baltic Sea was closed for traffic and the Bore IX was requisitioned by the Finnish government. After the war and a large renovation the ship returned to the Finland South American Line in 1946. The ship was demolished in Hong Kong in1959.

The model is painted in the colours of the company Ångfartygs Ab Bore. The Finnish flag is flying on the pole in the stern. The port of registry on the model is Turku (written in Swedish as ’Åbo’ on the model).
