The goal of the thesis was to study the line feeding process at Valmet Automotive EV Power Ltd’s production line and make suggestions to optimize the line distribution. In addition, the goal of the thesis was to create updated working instructions for line distribution and enhance productivity by benefit realization from improved ergonomics.

The thesis commences by presenting theory about productivity. Subsequently, theories of ergonomics are reviewed as well as their applications in workplaces. Furthermore the thesis handles theories of implementing enhanced ergonomic solutions in order to increase work efficiency and gives a brief overview on planning the layout of warehouse and internal logistics. The thesis concludes by describing how the working instructions were created and presents the suggestions for development.

As a result, line distribution working instructions were created and line distribution development suggestions were presented.

From the mandator perspective, the results of this thesis can be beneficial for efforts made to improve the productivity in the line distribution process.
