Toiminnallinen opinnäytetyö on toteutettu yhteistyössä RUORI 2 - hankkeen kanssa, hankkeen järjestäjät mahdollistivat tilat ja välineistön opinnäytetyön toteuttamiseen. Opinnäytetyön kohderyhmänä olivat työttömät henkilöt. Opinnäytetyön tilaajan aiherajaus oli turvallisuus aiheinen iltapäivä aikuisille työttömille. Toiminnallinen osuus toteutettiin vapaaehtoisille työttömille osallistujille, aiheena kodin turvallisuus. Opinnäytetyön tavoite oli työttömien osallisuuden, kiinnostuksen ja tiedon lisääminen kodin turvallisuuteen liittyvissä asioissa.

Opinnäytetyön teoreettisessa osuudessa on käsitelty työttömyyttä, sen vaikutuksia henkilön terveystilaan sekä työttömyyden ja sairastelun tilastoituja yhdistäviä tekijöitä. Teoreettisessa osuudessa olemme tuoneet esille myös pitkäaikaistyöttömyyden riskejä sekä työterveyspalveluiden puuttumisen tuomaa terveyspalveluiden piiristä jäämisen tuomia haittoja. Työttömät käyttävät vähemmän terveys- ja lääkäripalveluita, koska kuuluvat pienituloisiin, eivätkä kuulu työterveydenhuollon piiriin ja tämä taasen vähentää lääkärissä käyntejä.

Opinnäytetyön toiminnallisen osuuden toteuttamisen tueksi teimme Power Point -esityksen, johon liitetty tieto on etsitty luotettavista lähteistä. Power Point - esitys toimi iltapäivän kulun viitoittajana sekä keskustelua ohjaavana tekijänä.

This functional thesis has been completed by collaborating with project RUORI 2 , hence gaining access to work space and equipment suitable for the execution of this thesis. Target group for this research were unemployed individuals. Client whom this thesis was created for, wished to limit the topic into creating a safety afternoon for unemployed adults. The functional part of home safety was carried out with volunteering unemployed participants. The thesis aimed to increase involvement, interest and knowledge regarding safety issues at home.

The theoretical part of this thesis is addressing unemployment and how it may have an affect on individual's health, but also the correlation between unemployed and sick leave. The theoretical part also highlights the risks of long-term unemployment and the disadvantages of not being able to acquire health services due to lack of services provided along with employment. Unemployed use less health and medical services since they obtain low-income and are not covered by occupational health care, hence reduced medical visits.

A Power Point presentation with credible sources, was created to support the functional part of this thesis. The prese will act as a guide for the afternoon and for the conversation to follow after.
