Etelä-Pohjanmaan Green Care -strategia 2015 - 2020

Green Care is an umbrella term for variety of nature based practices aiming to promote human wellbeing. The concept is already well known in some European countries. However, in Finland it is still developing and finding its place as a part of social and health care services and tourism. There are two different sectors classified for Green Care in Finland: Green rehabilitation and care and Green empowering. The promotion of the welfare is in a central part of the strategy of South Ostrobothnian province and of the vision of the future. The premise to the Green Care services is good in the region even though the term is still unknown to many. The strategy for South-Ostrobothnian Green Care has been written as a part of the project called Green Care for Health, Welfare and Growth to South-Ostrobothnia. The strategy has been collected through the inquiries, teams and idea workshops in the cooperation with the possible producers or buyers of Green Care services of the area. On the basis of the collected information the most central needs for the area and readiness to develop the Green Care operation have been identified in the province. As a result, the vision for the year 2020 is represented with four focus areas and one crosscutting focus area.
