This Master’s thesis is presenting how digitalization is experienced in leading the ser-vices for the disabled and the ethics of the management. Leardership, the ethics and digitalization have all been researched widely, but very little together if at all. The partners in worklife for this Master’s thesis have been the city of Helsinki social- and healthcare organization for the disabled and Eteva municipal association. The ques-tionnaire and study was targeted to the persons working in management. In addition to the quantitative questionnaire also qualitative interview material has been used. The per-sons interviewed are a total of six. The thesis has been aiming to gather information on how the digitalization appears in the leading of the services for the disabled, the leardership ethics and how the digitalization is different between the two studied organisations. The report shows what kind of digi-tal tools the target groups are using, for which purpose and how much working time is spent with them. The managers studied also generated knowledge on what kind of sup-port the digital tools give and in which areas of leadership they produce the most bene-fit. The results of this thesis can be exploited in developing the leadership in both organiza-tions involved in this study. The report shows that leadership has largely shifted to dif-ferent information systems, reporting and analyzing reports. These observations raise questions regarding the necessity of some matters to be retained in face to face encoun-ters and natural working environments. In the future the knowhow and substance bal-ance should be examined so that the ethical leadership and the quality of the client work could be ensured. The thesis has been executed in Diaconia University of Applied Siences as a part of 24 Finnish polytechnics SotePeda 24/7 project, that aims to renew the social- and healthcare education as the working life is changing quickly due to digitalization. The project also wishes to increase the leadership know-how and develop the ethical know-how during the education reform.
