Our research enlarges on possibilities of textile and surface design to support human wellbeing in interior. We study wellbeing from viewpoint of acoustics and multisen-sory experience. Research formed a theory base for designing the OLOconcept. The aim of OLOconcept is to affect interior atmosphere and experience by using surface design. In pro-ductive section of our thesis we designed an application of our concept to be used in Hullu Poro -hotel lounge. Our thesis was part of University of Lapland Faculty of Art and Design Woollen Innovation -project. Working within the project wool became the material to start designing the application. We gathered material for the research from literature, digital sources, data from productive section and by interviewing experts. Research results showed that comprehensive design of interiors and surfaces influences on the human wellbeing. The power of textile surface is to be multisensory element interacting with people and to affect the atmosphere. Surface design also offers aesthetic options to be used as acoustic solutions. Surface design which supports the human wellbeing utilizes perspectives that help to form comprehensive understanding from the interior and its user. Successful design demands extensive fields of study and col-laboration. The application of OLOconcept offered to Hullu Poro -hotel a work called Northern Surface, which was created by using prototyping and computer aided visualisations of textile surfa-ces and panel structure. In addition we composed an idea of adapting the atmosphere of the lounge. Surface design can express function and brand of the company. OLOconcept pro-duced new perspectives to take advantage of hotel interior.
